If former MP Boora Narsaiah Goud left the TRS in search of greener pastures in the BJP, a backward class (BC) leader left the saffron party on Thursday, 20 October, to join Telangana Chief Minister for K Chandrashekar Rao and his party in an interesting balancing act.
Former MLA and BJP leader Budida Bikshamaiah Goud from Alair joined the TRS in the presence of the party’s working president KT Rama Rao at the Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.
He said on the occasion that he felt very suffocated in the BJP as he had to face discrimination because he was a BC leader.
The BJP should answer the searching questions from the people as to why it had admitted some like Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy into the party by offering thousands of crores worth of contracts, he said, echoing allegations that are doing the rounds about the saffron party’s candidate in the upcoming Munugode by-election.
If Raj Gopal Reddy was allowed to win, he would mortgage Nalgonda district for ₹1 lakh crore, he said.

KT Rama Rao, after inducting Bikshamiah Goud into the party, came down hard on the BJP for allegedly ushering in a culture of purchasing leaders with money.
“The BJP wants to use money again to win the hearts of the people, but these tactics would not work with the voters as they are very enlightened. It is heartening to see leaders like Bikshamiah Goud joining the TRS because, for them, self-respect is more important than any inducement,” he said.
He said he was sure that the people of Munugode would elect the TRS’ K Prabhakar Reddy, who was active in the Telangana movement.
“I am sure the people will give a verdict similar to the one in the by-elections in Huzurnagar and Nagarjuna Sagar,” he said.
Ever since Boora Narsaiah Goud joined the BJP, the TRS has trying hard to poach leaders from the BJP and the Congress.
TRS leaders are very alert to developments, and in case of any doubt, they are persuading the usual suspects from leaving the party.
When Central minister G Kishan Reddy visited deputy speaker and Secunderabad MLA T Padma Rao Goud, there was a flurry of activity in the TRS, with the word spreading that he was about to cross the Rubicon and join the BJP, as Narsaiah Goud did.
TRS leaders then got in touch with him, and later Padma Rao vowed to remain with the TRS till his last breath.
