According to the Cyberabad Metropolitan Police, the Nepali couple had come down to Hyderabad around seven months back seeking job.
The Cyberabad Metropolitan Police on Saturday, 16 July, arrested three people, including a Nepali couple for their alleged involvement in a case of burglary in Kukatpally.
The police seized ₹28.90 lakh cash and 137 tolas of gold and diamond jewellery, valued at ₹71 lakh, from the arrested.
They have been identified as Upendra Pradeep Shahi (38), Darji Chakradhar (32), and his wife Seetha Chakradhar (32).
Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra said, “A special team including Kukatpally police personnel and the Special Operations Team of Cyberabad was formed soon after the crime was reported.”
He added: “The team arrested the three from the Secunderabad Railway Station.”
The three were produced before the Kukkatpally judicial court before being sent to Sangareddy Jail.

According to the police, Chakradhar and his wife Seetha came to Hyderabad in search of a job around seven months ago.
“They were employed by V Damodar Rao, a realtor at the Vivekananda Nagar Colony in Kukatpally, and they lived in the servant quarters,” Ravindra said.
“Four days before the crime, their third associate came to Hyderabad from Lucknow. He was introduced to Rao as a relative,” the commissioner added.
The three broke into Rao’s house after the family left for a function on 12 July.
“The three looted cash and jewellery and fled the house,” the police added.
The arrested had stolen valuables worth ₹1 crore and ₹30 lakh cash from the realtor’s house.
During questioning, they told the police that they had spent ₹1 lakh while trying to escape from Hyderabad.
